Silver-Tone Jewellery

Every piece with a cool silver finish, across all categories, from fine chains to stainless steel bands.

What the description means. We use sterling silver only where a piece is solid 925 silver and our supplier has confirmed it. Everything else with a silver appearance is described as silver-tone or by its actual base metal, most often stainless steel. A 925 stamp on a plated item is misleading, and we do not use one.

Stainless steel versus plated silver-tone. Solid stainless steel does not tarnish and does not wear through, which makes it the more durable choice for something worn daily. Plated silver-tone gives a softer, brighter finish but the plating is a surface layer. Sterling silver tarnishes over time. That is the metal reacting with the air, not a fault, and a silver cloth removes it.

Each product page states which of the three a piece is. Our care page explains how to look after each.
